How to Use this site

APAeducation.org is the American Psychiatric Association site for Lifelong Learning online. The site is open to members and non-members. Members login using their APA User ID (or APA Member ID) and password.
Members/Former Members/Individuals with archival CME Recorder records - Help Logging In – If you have forgotten both your User ID and password, please call the APA Answer Center at 888.357.7924 to request your APA User ID and for your password to be reset. APA provides member and non-member fees for courses taken through the site.
Non-Member/Never Member - Help Logging In – If you have never taken a course for CME credit with the APA nor used our old "CME Recorder", please click on the Sign Up button to register as a non-member student. APA provides member and non-member fees for courses taken through the site.
Course Catalog – use the course catalog to view course listings, credits, prices and content. You must Log in to enroll in courses using the Course Catalog.
CME Credit – APA provides AMA PRA Category 1 credit™ for courses taken online. APA provides a certificate of attendance for non physician course participants.

My Transcript – is a CME Recorder component of the APAeducation.org site. My transcript holds records of completed courses and credits and allows reprinting of certificates. You can create and print a PDF version of the transcript by selecting a specific date range of CME activities and then selecting “Printer-friendly Version (PDF)”. Using the CME Category 1 Data Entry and CME Category 2 Data Entry forms you may enter non-APA CME activities into your transcript.

The Course Index provides access to sections of the course and the evaluation. A passing score of 60% is required for all courses in order to receive credit. You may retake tests in order to satisfy the score requirement. Each test retake clears all previous answers.

Getting your CME certificate for completed course

  1. Click the My Transcript hyperlink from the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the hyperlink "Completed Satisfactorily" to the right of the course title.
  3. Choose your certificate format (AMA PRA Category 1 or Certificate of Participation).
  4. Credit defaults to the maximum number of hours. To claim less than the maximum, enter your credits and click “update”.
  5. If you are satisfied with the credits displayed, click Print.
  6. Click OK when prompted.
  7. Click the red X at the top of the certificate screen to close this window.

Generating Your 3 Year Transcript

  1. Click the My Transcript hyperlink from the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the hyperlink "here" at the top of the My Transcript page in the phrase "Click here to create your transcript."
  3. Enter the 3 year date range in the dialog where prompted.
  4. Click the submit button.
  5. Save your 3 year transcript to PDF format for printing or emailing to educme@psych.org.

Accessing the 2010 APA Annual Meeting Online

  1. Click the Home hyperlink from the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the Launch icon to the right of the course "2010 APA Annual Meeting Online".
  3. Confirm your viewcard # or enter your viewcard #.
  4. Click the Submit button.
  5. If you see a "Stop running this script?" message, just click "No" and you will be directed to the Marathon content pages.
  6. Watch your session.
  7. Once you complete each session, to claim your credit click the link entitled "Session Test/Evaluation click here to claim your CME Credit" – this will take you back to our learning management system for completion of that session’s assessment and evaluation.
  8. Once both of those items (test and evaluation) are completed, the session will be moved to “My Transcript”.
  9. If you click the link “Completed Satisfactorily” you will be able to generate your CME certificate.
  10. Repeat steps 1 - 9 for each additional session.

Duplicate Enrollment Message

If you access the 2010 APA Annual Meeting Online or another course from any path other than the following, and you have already enrolled in the course, you will see the message "Duplicate Enrollment"- just click on it as it's a hyperlink and it will take you to your student "Home" page:
  1. Go to www.apaeducation.org
  2. Click the SIGN IN button
  3. Enter your userid and password.
  4. Click the Launch icon to the right of the course "2010 APA Annual Meeting Online".
  5. If the course is the 2010 APA Annual Meeting Online, then confirm your viewcard # or enter your viewcard #, otherwise proceed to complete your course.
  6. Click the Submit button.
